"Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven."  Matthew 5:16.

One of our Core Values at LJPC is GOING. We believe that Christ has called us to love our neighbor, and serve and care for the widows and poor. Our Mission partners serve as the perfect avenue for us to do this in the local, city-wide and global contexts. Please take time to prayerfully consider serving with one of our mission partners. If you have any questions or need help connecting with any of the organizations, please contact the Mission Admin Michelle Whitney at (858) 729-5504 or one of our team leaders listed below.

UPCOMING MISSION TRIPS

BELIZE Trip: June 20-28, 2012
The summer of 2011, 33 members of LJPC went to Belize to support our mission partner, TheWord At Work, building stronger schools, churches and homes in Belize City. Part of the team were doctors and nurses who offered their medical services and expertise. On July 17, a Belize team representative shared their trip experiences with the congregation during Sunday Worship. It was wonderful! If you would like to sign up for the 2012 trip to Belize, please contact Gary Wasserman at garywasserman@mac.com Paul Cunningham at paulc@ljpres.org

MALAWI Trip: July 5-19, 2012
The summer of 2011, thirteen members of La Jolla Pres returned safely from a wonderful mission trip to Malawi where they worked at the Malungundi School for the Blind, visited World Vision sponsor children and attended a special farewell ceremony for Rev. Dave and Hailey Rohde, LJPC missionaries who recently finished their 9 month service in Malawi. On Sunday, July 17, the team representatives shared their stories with our congregation during Worship. If you are interested in going to serve in Malawi in 2012, please contact Kelly Kovacic at kkovacic@stanfordalumni.org

MEN'S HOUSE BUILDING IN TIJUANA: March 23-25, 2012
La Jolla Presbyterian Church men will be partnering with Baja Christian Ministries to build a house for a desperately poor family in a single weekend. Radically change a  life in the countryside East of Tijuana; cry with them as you hand over the keys to their new home. Please contact Craig Deane at craigd@ljpres.org

GLEANINGS Trip: October 7-14, 2012
In October 2011, 16 members of La Jolla Pres spent a week in Sultana (near Fresno), CA, working very hard to re-package dried fruit and soups which are shipped to missionaries around the world, repair equipment needed for next season's harvest and assist with administrative needs at Gleanings For The Hungry. This is an excellent "local" trip which doesn't require a plane ticket or passport to serve and truly make a difference. If you are interested in attending the 2012 trip, please contact Nanci Lewis at momtutu@hotmail.com
. We are also accepting deposits & applications for the Oct. 7-14, 2012 or Oct. 6-12, 2013 Gleanings Mission Trips.

HAITI Trip: Feb.5-11, 2012
In September 2010, three members of LJPC traveled to Haiti with four team members from a church in Minnesota to work alongside our mission partner, Plant With Purpose. The 2010 trip was successful planting trees with farmers, working with various villages in the countryside and the overall experience of being a Christian presence during a time of physical and environmental rebuilding. A team of 7 members is traveling to Haiti in February. If you are interested in learning about or registering for the February mission trip to Haiti, please contact Kay Foltz at kayf@ljpres.org.
