Stephen Ministry 50-Hour Care-Giver Training Begins September 21, 2011 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm, LC #1 Trainers: John Latchem, Betsy Wiedle and John Griffiths The heart of a congregation’s ministry is caring for people in need or in crisis. This 50-hour training covers topics such as Staying Connected to Jesus, Ministering to Those Experiencing Grief, The Art of Listening, and Dealing with Depression. CARING MINISTRY CLASSES
Single and Parenting NEW DATES: Tuesdays, February 21 - April 10, 2012 Life Center Room #5 If you’re a single parent, you’re probably tired, overwhelmed and feeling a bit underappreciated. LJPC is working alongside the National Church Initiative “Single and Parenting” to share tips and parenting wisdom that will help you find rest, hope and encouragement. In this class, taught by Dr. Maryanne Cordahl, you will participate in video seminars that explain how to: wisely encourage your kids to obey, help your hurting child, eliminate debt, deal with verbal onslaughts, figure out what your emotions are telling you. Plus, you’ll develop meaningful friendships with other single parents, who, like you, are tired of hectic mornings and chaotic evenings, the kids fighting, and a never-ending to-do list. Divorce and Relationship Recovery Fall 2012 A recovery workshop to help people as they deal with divorce and broken relationships. Divorce doesn’t need to destroy your world. Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other so that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for AA membership. It is self-supporting through personal contributions.
